Sub: Academic Regulations for “Change of Branch” – reg.

As per the Orders of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and also as per clause 7.0 of Academics Regulations, students can opt for “change of branch” at the end of the second semester for the academic year 2016-17.

The following are the clauses to be followed:

A student admitted to a particular branch of the B.Tech program will normally continue studying in that branch until the completion of the program. However, in special cases the University may permit a student to change from one branch to another after the second semester, provided she / he fulfills admission requirement for the branch into which the change is requested.

The rules governing the change of branch are listed as below:-
  1. Top 1% (based on CGPA until 2nd semester) students will be permitted to change to any branch of their choice.
  2. Apart from students mentioned in clause (a) above, those who have successfully completed all the 1st & 2nd semester courses with CGPA > 8 are also eligible to apply, but the change of branch in such case is purely at the discretion of the University.
  3. All changes of branch will be effective from third semester. Change of branch shall not be permitted thereafter.
  4. Change of branch once made will be final and binding on the student. No student will be permitted, under any circumstances, to refuse the change of branch offered.
  5. Bio-Technology students are in principle not eligible for transfer to other Engineering Programmes. However, other Engineering programme students from Biology background in Pre University course are eligible for transfer to Bio-Technology subject certain conditions.
  6. All Branch changes made will be effective from second year first semester. Change of branch shall not be permitted thereafter.
  7. Change of branch is not applicable for Post Graduate programmes. 
  8. Application Fee (non-refundable) of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees one thousand only) to be paid. 
  9. Parent signature in applications is mandatory else the application will be treated as in valid.

    The application form for change of branch and Academic Regulations for Change of Branch is attached herewith.

    Those students who intend to change branch are required to make remittance of Rs.1,000/- (rupees one thousand only) by way of Demand Draft in favour of “K L University” and payable at “Vijayawada” and submit the same along with filled-in application to Dr. V. Vasanta Kumar, Coordinator-FED on or before 21st April, 2017 (Friday).

    The Coordinator and HODs of FED are therefore requested to ensure that this Circular is brought to the notice of all the I Year students of their departments.
